22 Oregon State Local USBC Associations: The List

The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) is the national governing body for the sport of amateur bowling.

If you’ve ever bowled in a  league then chances are very good that it was sanctioned by the USBC.

In fact most major tournaments state to state are sanctioned by the USBC too. It’s only until you get down to the small local bowling clubs and sweeper tournaments that the USBC isn’t involved.

On the national level the Professional Bowlers Association is the highest tier bowling tour you can bowl on. In fact many bowlers from all over the world come to bowl in PBA events.

At this top level the USBC is also not involved.

As the USBC sanctions bowling centers and leagues nationwide they naturally break these tasks down to state and local associations that report back up the food chain to the top.

There is a state association for all 50 states and within each state association there are numerous local associations governing local house-to-house affairs.

The Oregon State chapter of the USBC (ORUSBC) is further broken up into 22 different local associations.

Many of the local bowling associations across Oregon are very small. Some consist of only a single bowling alley in a geographic area.

Other associations like those that cover some urban population centers can house as many as 15 different bowling centers in the case of the Greater Portland Association.

Local USBC district information can sometimes be hard to find so I’ve provided the list of 22 associations below along with some information about their region, size, member bowling centers, and anything else that seems important or helpful to know.

I hope this helps.

ps. If any information in this list is no longer accurate like address, urls, phone numbers, or emails then please contact me so that I can update the list accordingly. You can drop me a line at mountsbowling @gmail.com
